Johanna Cousin founded Just Cause Dancers, Inc on April 6, 2006.She received a B.A. from Illinois State University in Communications and a Masters in Education from Concordia University. Currently she teaches Kindergarten in Chicago. Johanna has studied various forms of arts since the age of 3 including modeling,ballet, hip-hop, african, tap, jazz, and theatre. Johanna has danced professionally with groups such as Noir Dance Troupe at Illinois State University and at the Bill Board musical awards in 2005. Since 2006 Johanna has led JCD in over 20 first place championships. She founded Just Cause Dance Studios in 2009.

Kara Cartmill became a member of Just Cause Dancers, Inc in October of 2008. Shortly there after, Kara became a full-time coach in June 2009. She received a Bachelor of Arts from The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago in 2009 studying Fashion Marketing and Management and also studied at Roosevelt University to receive her MBA in Accounting in 2012. Kara has studied in performing arts since the age of 6 including singing (pop, showtunes, opera, etc.), theatre (musicals and plays), dance (lyrical, hip-hop, African, tap, jazz, contemporary, and pom). Kara has choreographed for many groups such as the FMHS Showchoirs Dinner Theatre Show, Fort Madison High School Dance Team, multiple years of Kids Showchoir Clinics, and current choreographer for Simpson College Dance Team. Performing arts has always been a major staple in her life, and Just Cause Dancers, Inc. has been a driving force that keeps her passion for the arts alive.
